Summary

‘The perfect book to lift your spirits’ Beth O’Leary

Romance novel obsessive Tara Chen has had more than her fair share of heartbreak。 Nevertheless, she is determined to keep trying and find her perfect match。 The only problem? Modern dating apps have killed the classic meet-cute。 So, Tara decides to revisit her exes in hopes of securing her very own trope-worthy second-chance romance。

Firefighter Trevor Metcalfe will be the first to rush into a burning building but the last to rush into a relationship。 Love just isn't his thing。 When his new flatmate Tara enlists him to help her reconnect with her exes, he reluctantly agrees。

But, the more time they spend together, the more Trevor appreciates Tara's authentic, dramatic self。 Can they break the habits of a lifetime and give their spark a chance?

‘Sexy and sweet with a pitch-perfect slow burn romance’ Catherine Walsh

Gotta also give Amy Lea props for giving an actually good 3rd act conflict with a reasonable time-frame for a resolution。 It again, made me believe these 2 love each other and was a good representation of the tensions of a new relationship and the jealousy/confusion that comes with figuring out how you communicate with each other。 This is especially true considering how much time these 2 spent together。 Anyway, I loved this。 I did dock it a point for Tara's desperateness at the beginning, but in general I recommend! 。。。more

I just don’t enjoy this author and don’t know why I pushed myself to finish this boring AF book。 🤷🏻‍♀️

CW: There's a list of them at the front of the book, it's worth reading before you start this。The slowwwwwww burn on this one about killed me because I'm not a patient person but I mostly enjoyed it otherwise。 I thought the whole Daniel thing was kind of a letdown after how much that meeting was built up but all-in-all, I liked this one better than Set On You 。。。 which says a lot because I really liked that book。 Trevor and Tara were just as awesome as I expected, I just wish we would have seen CW: There's a list of them at the front of the book, it's worth reading before you start this。The slowwwwwww burn on this one about killed me because I'm not a patient person but I mostly enjoyed it otherwise。 I thought the whole Daniel thing was kind of a letdown after how much that meeting was built up but all-in-all, I liked this one better than Set On You 。。。 which says a lot because I really liked that book。 Trevor and Tara were just as awesome as I expected, I just wish we would have seen more of Trevor's romantic side (other than the end of the book) because it's obviously in him since he helped come up with the grand gesture in the first book。 。。。more

Finished this beauty up this morning。 I loved it! I enjoyed the twist on a typical forced proximity trope with Tara’s ex list and her journey to find a great second chance romance。 The fact that Trevor is a sexy fireman also doesn’t hurt the storyline 😜。 Overall, if you like books that make you happy, then grab this one… it’s great!Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 (a few steamy parts that could be skipped if it is not your thing)

This one was a lot stronger than Set On You。 I loved the dynamic between Tara and Trevor, and it was such a fun read。

This had potential to be so good but it disappointed me。 The MC was too much of a pushover and the MMC didn’t seem that into her

(4/5) me, literally a week ago: "I swear I'm going to stop [reading friends-to-lovers] because very few of them have pulled it off for me"me today: jk 🤡Perhaps it's the combination of other tropes in this book that made me love it (grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity/room-ance, he falls first, etc。) but I enjoyed this read and devoured it in one sitting。 The pacing was great, the third-act breakup was dramatic enough but not stressful to read, and the epilogue omg I squealed out loud。 I feel like (4/5) me, literally a week ago: "I swear I'm going to stop [reading friends-to-lovers] because very few of them have pulled it off for me"me today: jk 🤡Perhaps it's the combination of other tropes in this book that made me love it (grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity/room-ance, he falls first, etc。) but I enjoyed this read and devoured it in one sitting。 The pacing was great, the third-act breakup was dramatic enough but not stressful to read, and the epilogue omg I squealed out loud。 I feel like Tara was written FOR me and I loved Trevor and his character development throughout the book。 This book is a slow burn but it's worth it to see their friendship develop, and I thought the themes were executed beautifully。 When you're with your person, you're never "too much。" I definitely will be picking up the third book in the series, because I can't wait to read more about Mel。My only qualms were these: (1) WHAT I WOULD HAVE GIVEN!!! FOR THIS TO BE A DUAL POV BOOK!!! AMY I'M BEGGING YOU! and (2) You're really telling me she's saying she couldn't find one of her exes online *at all* and yet her sister finds him on LINKEDIN?? Like!! Ma'am!! That's obviously one of the FIRST PLACES YOU GO! 。。。more

I love the bookstagram aspect, pop culture references and all the relationship tropes mentioned throughout。 Tara is an open book and that might be a lot for some but she’s the balance Trevor needs and vice versa。 They go from strangers to roommates to friends to more and that friendship is the foundation for their romantic relationship。 Trevor is the definition of grumpy man who has his world turned upside over a woman in the best way possible giving Tara her romance book worthy relationship but not the way she would have predicted; it turns out so much better。 。。。more
